Mumbai, The Benchmark Index gained 146.90 points or 0.42 percent to settle at 35,158.55 in a truncated week, marking the start of the Hindu new year, Samvat 2075. However, sentiment was weighed down by negative global stocks. Domestic stock markets were closed on November 7, 2018 on account of Diwali and again on November 8, 2018 on account of Diwali Balipratipada. However, markets remained open for Muhurat trading on November 7, 2018 between 1715 hrs and 1830 hrs. The Nifty 50 index gained 32.20 points or 0.31% to settle at 10,585.20. The BSE Mid-Cap index rose 55.47 points or 0.37 pc to settle at 14,944.20. The BSE Small-Cap index rose 207.17 points or 1.43 pc to settle at 14,671.85. Shares kicked off trading for the week on a negative note. Key benchmark indices settled with modest losses on Monday, November 5, 2018. Sensex lost 60.73 points to settle at 34,950.92. Nifty also fell 24.80 points to settle at 10,528.20. Amid a divergent trend among various index constituents, the key benchmark indices settled with small gains on Tuesday, November 6 2018. Nifty rose 68.40 points to settle at 10,598.40. Key benchmark indices settled with modest losses on Friday, November 9, 2018, weighed down by selling pressure in index pivotals. Sensex lost 79.13 points to settle at 35,158.55. Nifty fell 13.20 points to settle at 10,585.20.
