Case under NSA will be registered for criminal act in UP Panchayat elections

500x500x9950-election.jpg.pagespeed.ic.hBmdS3aETELucknow, Jul 20 -The Uttar Pradesh government today announced that cases under National Security Act(NSA) and Gangster Act would be registered against any persons found in criminal act during the ensuing three tier panchayat elections slated in August-September next. State's Principal Secretary for Home Department Devashish Panda told mediapersons here today that orders were given by them to the officers in the view of three tier panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh. A high level meeting was today held and officers were given strict instructions to conduct the elections peacefully, said Mr Panda. He also said instructions were given to the officer to register cases against the people found involved in criminal act under the National Security Act and Gangster Act like that of the last elections. Mr Panda said officers have been given strict instructions to take actions against the people absconding under section 107/16 for manufacturing illegal arms and liquor. He added that a report has been sought from all the districts for additional police force and paramilitary forces during the elections. Mr Panda said that instructions for peaceful celebrations of festivals before and after the elections have also been given to the officers concerned. The Principal Secretary said few people in the state always try to give communal colour to each and every minor incident and orders have been given to take strict actions against them also. However, the official dates for the elections have not been declared yet but the police has started its preparations for peaceful elections. Also present on the occasion Director General of Police Jagmohan Yadav said instructions have been given for carrying the election peacefully while he also stressed for setting up laboratories to control heinous crimes in the state. Mr Yadav said a mobile laboratory unit will be established in all the zones while the forensic labs will be increased to 18 in Uttar Pradesh. He added that few incidents came to light during the last elections and it will be their effort to not let repeat those incidents and win the the faith of public.
