Braving rains, fresh batches of pilgrims leave for Amarnath


Srinagar : Undeterred by rain since early this morning, fresh batches of pilgrims left Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camps for the holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, where so far over 2.09 lakh pilgrims had paid obeisance since the commencement of the 48-day-long pilgrimage since July 2. It was raining since early this morning on both shortest Baltal and traditional Pahalgam tracks, a yatra official told . He said pilgrims were paying obeisance since early this morning at the cave shrine.Yesterday, 2,512 yatris, including women and sadhus, paid obeisance at Amarnath.
