Another Shatabadi between Lucknow and Delhi from Diwali

Shatabdi-Express-ChandigarhBareilly, Jul 23 - Indian Railways will run another Shatabadi super fast train between Lucknow and Delhi this year, just before the Diwali festival. This would be the second Shatabadi train to ply between Lucknow and Delhi. The first one plies on the Kanpur-Etawah route and begins from New Delhi station early morning. The proposed one would start in the morning from Lucknow and run through Bareilly-Moradabad route. A double-decker train between Lucknow and Anand Vihar terminus through Bareilly and Moradabad is already running since last couple of months. Railway Board's Chief Operating Manager(COM) Sanjeev Garg said here last night that after double-decker train, the route would now get a new Shatabadi super fast train. The new Shatabadi train would start from Lucknow in the morning and will have stoppage at Shahjahanpur,Bareilly, Rampur and Moradabad. It will make return journey in the evening. The officer said the response of the passengers to the double decker train is not so good and stressed the need to publicise to make the train popular. Talking about the crunch of operating staff in the railways, the officer admitted that 25 per cent vacancy exists in the loco pilots and guards. It will take around another one year to fill these vacancies as training is underway on a large scale. Mr Garg said all efforts are being made to run the trains on time.
