Allahabad HC directs authorities to install landing system at Bamrauli airport

Allahabad : Allahabad High Court has directed Airport Authority of India, Indian Air force and Military Engineering Services to install Instrument Landing System (ILS) at Barmauli airport in the outskirts of Allahabad within 15 days. The court also instructed to complete all mechanical and electrical work within given time. The court ordered this on a Public Interest Litigation of Advocate Ajay Kumar Mishra regarding set up of civil aviation airport in Allahabad and up-gradation of Barmauli airport. The order was passed by a division bench comprising Justices Dilip Gupta and Yashwant Verma. Earlier, Advocate of airport authority told court that the MES has demanded Rs 50 lakh for different works that would be paid within a week. ''Surveys to install ILS and all technical strategies have been completed. ILS will need some more land which is under illegal encroachment,'' he said. The High Court has instructed district magistrate, commissioner of Allahabad and air force authorities to point out and remove illegal encroachment. Next hearing in this case is on July 14.
