In his letter, which was released to media here today, Mr Yadav said that Bundelkhand was one of the most backward areas of the state and the Samajwadi Party government was doing its best to bring this region out of backwardness and poverty. “The central government has approved Rs 3521 crore for the development of Bundelkhand. But till date the state has received only Rs 1845 crore. Under the 11 th Five year scheme, UP has receieved Rs 1500 crore against allocated Rs 1578 crore. Thus, UP has not received central assistance in full affecting implementation of development work in the region,” the Chief Minister said. He said in 2015-16, the Centre has delinked central assistance of BRGF from many projects. Thus, government assistance for Bundelkhand will also stop. This will adversely hit development of Bundelkhand region, he said and requested continuation of central assistance as earlier.
