Akhara Parishad chairman Narendra Giri had earlier said, "I have come to know about the dubious character of Sachchidanand Giri alias Sachin Datta. This honour will be withdrawn if the charges were found true". "If he is a bar owner and an offender, then he doesn't deserve this. He is also supposed to know all the religious books and scriptures in Hindu religion. I have asked a committee to probe the matter. We will also take action against those Mahamandaleshwars who supported him, if the complaint was found genuine", he added.
