After Narsingh, now Shot-putter Inderjeet in dope net

New Delhi : In more trouble for Rio-bound Indian contingent, shot putter Inderjeet Singh has tested positive for a banned steroid, a few days after grappler Narshing Yadav (74kg) tested positive for doping.

Inderjeet, the reigning Asian Champion's prospects of participating at the Olympics is virtually over as his ‘A’ sample returned positive and if the ‘B’ sample also tests positive, he will miss the Olympics, besides facing the prospect of being banned for four years under the new World Anti-Doping Code.

Earlier, the 26-year-old grappler was tested positive for a banned substance in a random dope test conducted by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).
However, the wrestler claimed innocence.
