New Delhi:Bollywood superstar Aamir khan organised a special screening of his film Dangal for Haryana Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar The special screening was organised by Aamir at the film division auditorium last night.
The Haryana CM had all praise for the film, which is based on the life of champion wrestler Mahavir Phogat, who trained his daughters Geeta and Babita to ensure that they won medals for India in the commonwealth games.
Talking to reporters, Mr Khattar said the film brilliantly portrayed the struggles of daughters of Haryana Geeta and Babeeta and their father Mahavir Phogat to win laurels for India in the international arena.
'The film is in line with the 'beti bachao beti padao ' campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It also highlights the culture of haryana and its tradition of encouraging sports.
Wrestling and Dangal have been an important part of The sporting tradition of the state, 'he said.
He said the film would be screened at various places in the state as part of the film Utsav during the golden jubilee celebrations of Haryana.
Talking to reporters here, Aamir said, 'the film is a pride of Haryana.
The film's story of the struggle of Mahavir Phogat, a resident of a small village in the state, to train his daughters Geeta and Babeeta to make them world champions will inspire many others.
' On this occasion, he mouthed the famous dialogue from The film 'hamaari choriyan Choron se jam hain ke' (are our daughters any less than sons).
He was also thankful to Mr Khattar for granting tax exemption to the film and agreeing to attend the special screening.
The film has been granted tax exemption in Haryana by the state government.
