A day after JD (U) move to support Kovind, Sharad Yadav visits Madhepura


New Delhi,: Senior Janata Dal-United JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav, who attended the May 26 Opposition leaders meet in Delhi, will not attend today's meet of the Opposition parties as his party has already decided to back the candidature of NDA-nominee Ram Nath Kovind for the Presidential polls.
Mr Yadav, who was once considered in the race, is today reaching his constituency Madhepura in Bihar.
"Sharadji is not in Delhi.
After his visit to Madhepura and other places in rural Bihar, he will be back in Delhi only by June 30," a source in the JD (U) said.
According to JD (U) sources, the decision to support the candidature of Mr Kovind was taken by the party in a marathon meeting between party chief and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and senior leaders and the elected MLAs of the party in Patna yesterday.
