Lucknow, Mar 13 - The ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh today claimed that its innovative campaign `Gaon Gaon Akhilesh’ for reaching out to the masses ahead of the 2017 state Assembly election has so far contacted over four lakh people in the state.
The campaign with the LED vans equipped with TV screens was launched in December last year to propagate the achievements of Akhilesh Yadav government to every nook and corner of the state.
Samajwadi Party Spokesman and Minister Rajendra Chowdhary said so far, the campaign has covered over 1,000 villages in five districts- Faizabad, Agra, Gorakhpur, Hamirpur and Jalaun.
The party volunteers accompanying the LED vans visited the villages and met the villagers. Besides telling them about the various schemes launched by the government for the people's welfare, the volunteers also recorded the grievances of villagers against the different government agencies and their suggestion for the better implementation of development schemes.
Publicity material is also distributed in the villages during the visit to the villages by LED Vans. The SP leader said the success of the campaign so far has demonstrated that people have unflinching faith in the leadership of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. He said that the communal and divisive forces have been disappointed by the leadership of Mr Yadav, who will complete four years in the office next week. SP had launched the 'Gaon gaon Akhilesh' campaign for establishing direct contact with the masses. The campaign was launched on December 20.
With an eye on 2017 Assembly polls, the ruling Samajwadi Party had kickstarted its campaign by launching 12 LED screen - fitted commercial vehicles, cameras and other publicity equipment.
The convoy of vehicles named 'Samajwadi Jansamvad Vahan' was flagged of by SP general secretary and Rural Development minister, Arvind Singh Gope. In the first phase, the vehicles will cover only five districts. The target of the campaign is to cover over one lakh villages across the state.
By the end of February 2017, all 75 districts will be covered by the 'Gaon Gaon Akhilesh' campaign and all UP villages are likely to be covered. Each vehicle is expected to visit at least 200 villages in each district.
Besides conducting video shows showing achievements of the government, a team of party workers will also record complaints, aspirations and suggestions of the masses for redressal of their grievances and local development.
The complaints thus recorded will be submitted to CM Akhilesh Yadav and other party leaders for follow up action. Rajendra Choudhary said that the district SP chiefs will co-ordinate with party workers in the vehicles. He said that the workers on board the vehicles will interact with locals and listens to problems and suggestions.
"The campaign will reach people, who are still bereft of benefits of development and establish positive communication with them. The leader and workers will participate in the campaign for ensuring contact with masses,'' said Mr. Choudhary.
The campaign vehicles through the LED screens and equipment will make people aware of the achievements of the SP government and the development carried out during the last four years.
